The Dai Nippon CX-D80 was designed and built after the success of the DNP CX-330 to combine the quality and reliability of its predecessor with the need for a small, economical solution thanks to the availability of a single-sided version. The retransfer printing technology, the only one that allows printing over the edge, guarantees superior-quality badges and a very high level of anti-counterfeiting. The print head transfers the image from a colour ribbon onto a film that then fuses onto the badge. This way, the durability of the head is preserved because it cannot suffer any kind of impact; the film adheres to the badge even if it is not perfectly planar, and if you try to alter the print you destroy the whole image.
